| Boy...
just look at those V-Dubs! The club decided to slack off on
meetings for a couple months (January and February) and start again in
March. They also decided to have a couple impromptu gatherings if
someone felt the urge. Well it didn't take long... here it is only two
weeks into the new year and many were ready to take a cruise out to the
Samoa Cookhouse and see how everyone was doing. It seems everyone is doing ok, but I tell you... when folks are just sitting around and not having to take car of club business, you can learn so much. We all had the chance to just sit and talk. Way cool! There are times when those you think you have vast knowledge about, can surprise you. For instance I found out that if you have a Christmas tree in the house and you invite a certain someone to come party with you, you had better watch how much he (or she) has to drink... or at least where he... uh... or she... relieves himself... I mean he or she relieves him/herself. PEE TREE!!!!! Oh my gawd, it's fun to find out those little secrets about people. Seems like even non official members decided to come and see what we were all about. We got to see two or three cars that most of us haven't seen before The Baja bug at left is from a young fellow who shows some interest, but wants to sell his car... he's asking $2k. The white car with the black hood ,near the right end of the line up, belongs to a young fellow who is thinking about joining up. He came to us looking for advice. His car was making a funny noise and was looking to find a diagnosis - turned out to be a loose crank pulley. Anyway, it was a good time and we had lots of fun catching up with everyone and what they've been up to. We had 15 cars and nearly 30 people show up. Not bad for a quickie gathering. The food was good (as usual) and of course... plentiful. For those of you who couldn't make it... you were missed and hope all is ok with you. Maybe you can join in next time. Happy New Year from all the Humbugs folks - see ya soon |
