Jean's
Big Surprise - Just look at the smile on Jean's face. Think she
might be a little happy? OH YAH!!! Dick had looked high and low
for a nice '67 and got lucky when he found this one. He also found out
that the '67s are rare and have many 1 year only parts and features
which makes restoration more difficult.

Here's
the loving couple at Freshwater Lagoon - oh yah... and their little '67
too. The picture was taken in 2004 on the way to the Crescent City
Cruise By The Sea Car Show. The lagoon is as far as they made it. We
all thought they were getting a bit too cozy and just wanted to be
alone, but they claimed they were having fuel pump problems. None of us
can remember driving all the way back home on a broken fuel pump
before... nice story huh? Geez! Get a room!

Coincidentally,
the next time these two love birds went on a cruise with us, they
seemed a bit preoccupied again. We were on our way to look at a couple
VWs that were for sale up in the mountains. Seems like they wanted to
be alone again... then the next thing we knew, Dick and Jean ran into
Bambi - a sweet little deer! Gees! Not again - they'll do anything to
be alone together. We helped them straighten out their fender and they
were gone. Must have seen a motel nearby or something.

Here's a great
image of Dick and Jean's '67 after the front end repairs. Dick made
sure Jean's beetle was rght back in perfect shape for the 2005 Eureka
Cruise.

Here's the
Twiddy Bug next to some other Humbugs cars at the 2005 Eureka Cruise -
a Make-A-Wish Foundation sponsored event. Humbugs put together over
$270 to give to this wonderful cause this year. Our goal was to double
the $65 we donated last year. We have terrific members and Dick and
Jean are great examples.
